Arthur Ard
Arthur Ard is originally from Alabama but he is happy to call Wilmington home now. He was always an inquisitive-minded child, willing to take things apart to see how they worked, not always putting them back together the way they were before (to the chagrin of his father) , but none-the-less he learned. He was blessed to have a creative mind and approach to things. He was not formally trained as an artist but took all available classes in school.
He began building homes over 20 years ago, which morphed into building furniture and naturally graduated into more ways to express his creativity in functional artwork, in which he sees endless possibilities. He primarily works in the metal media which is a newfound avenue to express his creativity. He deals generally in repurposed industrial components, saving them from the fiery furnace to live again and bring a peaceful glow to people’s homes.
