Marilyn Grizzard
Marilyn Grizzard has always been attracted to the simplicity of functional pottery, particularly large bowls. She works in both stoneware and porcelain, creating functional items that feel at home in the hand. More recently, she’s been inspired to create fanciful characters. These Beasties challenge her creativity and tickle her imagination. They are altered and carved ceramic closed forms, adorned with embellishments of beads, wire and found objects. Beasties are either porcelain or stoneware with skins, furs and feathers of high-fired reduction glazes or Raku fired.
