Artisan Submissions

Eclipse Artisan Boutique specializes in one of a kind, handmade, eclectic work primarily produced from local and regional artisans. Eclipse offers a variety of items from original paintings, artwork, sculpture, pottery, glass, jewelry, photography, furniture, rugs and textiles. Many of our artisans also create custom orders for customers including furniture and artwork. Eclipse is located beside its sister store, Blue Moon Gift Shops on Racine Drive in Wilmington, N.C.

We are always in search of exceptional craftsmen and fine artists who create unique pieces from artwork to custom furniture. Eclipse accepts works on a consignment basis only – consignment agreement is 60% artist / 40% gallery.

Eclipse accepts new artist submissions January thru October. Materials are reviewed during the first week of each month by committee. To be considered, materials must be received by the end of the previous month. Potential artisans are requested to submit images and additional materials for consideration. All artisans are initially reviewed in electronic format and all materials are to be submitted via e-mail. If selected, the committee may request to view works in person to ensure quality. Please note that Eclipse will not view artworks that are brought to the gallery without a prior appointment. Eclipse will contact artisans once the committee has reviewed all submissions.

Electronic submission material will include the following items, where applicable:

• Brief Bio
• Resume and/or artist statement
• Website link
• Sample of current and available work (2-10 images) represented with high quality and professional images*
• Include title, size, medium, retail price (or price range) for each image

All submissions accepted by the committee are to be:

• Signed, dated, and clearly labeled
• Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity (where applicable**)
• Ready for display

• • Artwork in frames much be in excellent condition and framed in an appropriate style for the artwork
  • Back to be papered, labeled, and wired for hanging
  • Works on canvas must be presented with a traditional “gallery wrap” painted edges or framed in a float frame
  • All pieces must be wired for hanging

• Accompanied by cleaning or care instructions (i.e. functional ceramics or cleaning instructions)***
• In excellent condition
• Accompanied by high quality and professional images

*Please note that many of the gallery’s offerings are promoted on Eclipse’s social media. It is the responsibility of the artist to provide high quality and professional images for display on social media and for inclusion on the website.

**Any work that is submitted without professional finishing will be returned to the artist.

***In case of sales items will be accompanied by an Artist Bio, care and cleaning instructions and certificates of authenticity.
