Jeff Dodson
As long as Jeff Dodson can remember, he has been working with wood in some form or fashion. As a kid he was a very tenacious tinkerer. From building forts in the woods to completely disassembling his dad’s drill, he had a creative and strong desire to build things and to discover how things work. Later he started building models- planes, trains, automobiles and everything in between. Every job he has ever had was “hands on”. He started with his own small repair service and later advanced to work as an upscale custom home builder. In 2019 he assisted his father in the repair of his band saw. After searching it out he knew this was something he wanted to learn how to use but he definitely wanted to add his own creativity. It’s very important to him that he never uses a template or pattern. Every item is hand drawn and unique- no two are alike. During the pandemic of 2020 he stayed in the workshop day and night perfecting his skills. He soon added clocks and jewelry boxes to his collection. Today, he prefers to call them treasure boxes. Some have small cubbies, trays and hidden drawers especially made for the small treasures of the owner. He strives to make each box as individual as the owner. They are both decorative and functional and are made for everyone to enjoy.
