Linda Hartman
Linda Hartman was a well know painter, sculptor, and ceramic artist who lived and worked in Wilmington, North Carolina. She received her art education from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Kansas. However, she’d be the first to say that 90% of the art she explored came from the school of what-if!
Inspiration for her art was deep rooted and ever evolving. It began when she was a small child taking nature walks with her gramma. She gleaned from her Cherokee Indian heritage the art of beholding the peaceful beauty and harmony in her surroundings. When she gathered materials to create a work of art, she would re-experience gramma’s teachings subliminally, appreciating those special moments when one stands back from the chaos of our mass media infused world. She was a visual storyteller, an interpreter, communicating with the viewer a small anecdote unique to her life’s experiences. Whenever possible, it was her great joy to share how she made art and guided others on their marvelous journey.
