Louise Giordano
Fiber and textiles have been the fabric of Louise Giordano’s life since childhood. Initially into knit and crochet, felting now has become a passion. Through her fingers and fibers flows a vision to create functional and wearable fabrics designed to enhance beauty whether on the body or as decoration for the home.
Largely self-trained, she has pursued a variety of classes, workshops, and courses, in nuno felting with internationally known felt artists. Her goal is to create very lightweight, drapable fabric by combining and merging merino wool roving through fine silk fabrics and adding other embellishments. The results, though delicate-looking and lovely, are strong, durable scarves and wraps that drape beautifully on the body but can also be used as wall-hangings and table runners.
In addition to felting, Louise creates unique knit and crochet work, often combining both and incorporating them into felting.
