John Marshall’s primary interest is in organic design featuring a medley of woods. His designs highlight the natural beauty of wood with only hand rubbed finishes. In the past few years he has focused on end grain cutting boards using multiple species of woods that are not only useful, but works of art any homeowner can be proud to display in their kitchens. Although more labor intensive than side grain cutting boards, end grain cutting boards are more durable and easier on knives. And the design possibilities increase exponentially over side grain boards. His cutting boards include rubber feet which hold the board securely while using.
