Marilynn Barner Anselmi and Jan Sullivan Volz, “Two friends inspired by the love of old wood and antique materials” are Red Oak Wood Shop located in Rocky Mount, NC. They focus on creating distinctly unique pieces of furniture using locally reclaimed materials and wood. Their mission is to incorporate reclaimed materials in creative ways resulting in functional works of art. The results are distinctive furniture that transforms living spaces and inspires conversation. Red Oak Wood Shop continues to search for rare beautiful pieces of indigenous wood and unique iron bases. They also work with metal artists to custom create bases and iron legs.
