Robert Beauchene
After Robert graduated from Vassar College, he worked as a financial advisor during the dot-com boom but moved to Wilmington, NC, with his family after 9/11 to pursue his passions as a professional musician, photographer, woodworker, and guitar builder. A straightforward individual, Robert prefers to focus on one project at a time without the desire to expand his business.
His artistic instincts lean toward abstraction, drawing inspiration from abstract expressionism and street photography. His ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) work captures the interplay of light, shadow, and form, often keeping the subject a mystery. Primarily using a digital camera, he employs minimal post-processing. While he has received awards and participated in exhibitions, Robert believes that art stands on its own merits, regardless of recognition.
