Terry Thompson is a maker and a doer who needs to be busy creating. She can’t resist sparkling gems and always looks for interesting ways to use these beauties. What will they become? Earrings, necklaces, rings maybe? What technique will she use to best showcase the gem? Every stone speaks to me and tells me what it should become.
Her first jewelry instruction was an eight-week class with a grizzled local jeweler during the slow season at a bed and breakfast she owned and operated in Colorado. She was hooked and began making and selling.
After selling her business she moved to North Carolina and continued to create. She enrolled in the local community college’s professional jewelry program and learned so much. Her work was accepted and has been at the same gallery ever since. She works primarily in sterling silver and fine silver embellished with gemstones.
