Dan Campbell
Dan Campbell was attracted to art at an early age. He found inspiration in the dramatic and colorful drawings in comic books, which ultimately led him to drawing and painting. Dan is primarily a self-taught artist, although he did study commercial art.
Dan gravitates toward vibrant color and bold, sweeping, powerful brush and palette knife strokes. He is influenced by abstract expressionist painters – Kandinsky, Pollack, Delaunay, and De Kooning. However, he also loves impressionism, which explores representational subjects with an abstract view.
Dan’s own style and intention is to bring a passion, drama, and energy to a painting so that it catches your eye from across the room. He often compliments his brush work with an array of palette knife techniques. The textures in a painting can play as strong a role as the colors in the creative process.
